EditExpress™ Featuring eXtyles®
Slash your copyediting time by up to 30%
EditExpress™ offers automated pre-copyediting tools that simplify the pre-copyediting functions by taking the most mechanical aspects of copyediting and automating them with features such as:
- Auto-redact dictionaries (complex search-and-replace routines to match your editorial style)
- Automated bibliographic reference restructuring
- PubMed and CrossRef validation and linking
- Two-way citation and reference matching
- Numbered citation conversion
- Numbered citation order checking
- Citation and reference renumbering
Our Tool-and-Send workflow allows publishers to retain their copyediting role in-house while still taking full advantage of the EditExpress™ pre-copyediting file preparation. In addition to the features listed above, customers will also enjoy the benefits of having our trained operators "normalize" their accepted manuscripts to make them ready for copyediting. This normalization process includes the conversion and/or preparation of tabular material to Microsoft Word tables. So whether your authors have supplied tabular material as images, PDFs, Excel files, or even spaced or tabbed "pseudo–tables," our staff will ensure that the file you receive back for copyediting includes Word tables ready to be copyedited.
In addition to the power of eXtyles® and the benefits of the Tool-and-Send workflow, DJS also offers a suite of Microsoft Word templates that assist the copyeditor, including:
- Copyedit template – quick access to the most common special characters; no more searching through Word's Insert Symbol feature for that elusive character
- Query template – quick access and insertion of your most common and repetitive author queries as Microsoft Word comments; fully customizable by the user
- eRacer – post-copyediting review
- Table toolbar – simply the fastest and most efficient way to pre-format tables in MS Word and an absolute must for our eGalley™ workflow
